The purpose of this Port Test Utility is to determine if your PC can connect to us via any of the ports that your flash player will automatically try. As long you are
successful in one test, you will be able to transmit video. This will test one connection to each port individually, then one "Auto Port Connect" to ensure the "dynamic"
connection attempt works.
The more ports you can connect to (results in green), the better your chance for a good connection to the
server and the faster your initial connection will be. Port 1935 is always the best choice. If you have a firewall blocking port 1935, you
should open it, if possible.
The smaller your ping times, the more fluid your video can look and the more stable your connection will be.
Ping times less than 500 ms shown in green are excellent and will yield the best video. Results between 500 and 1000
ms shown in yellow are good. Results larger than 1000 ms shown in red may cause a reduction in
the smoothness and quality of your streaming video.
Troubleshooting Tips:
If you are experiencing long delays in connecting, you may want to upgrade your Internet connection or reduce the amount of Internet applications you’re using while attempting to host. (For example, if you’re downloading files and attempting to send IMs while testing, your ping times will increase.)
Although most DSL/cable connections are more than suitable for EasyCam sessions, utilizing other Internet-intensive applications (such as file sharing programs) will affect your connection speeds. Note that EasyCam is a Flash-based program, so make sure you have the latest update of Flash installed on your computer.
Check with your Internet Service Provider to see if the issue is with your internet connection. The ISP may be having momentary issues routing to our servers.
Dial-up connections may or may not be able to handle the amount of data transmitted during an EasyCam session, so you may want to try iFCam when you host your sessions.
